How can I become an exchange student?

First, you need to contact the coordinator at your home university to see if they have an exchange agreement with USBE and to be nominated for an exchange. After the nomination you will receive application information from Umeå University's International Office. Under "More information" on your right you can find information about your application and courses available.

Welcome letter for incoming exchange students, spring 2018

Exchange students coming in through a formal exchange agreement with the business school are prioritized for courses at the business school given that you fulfill the required knowledge of the course(s) that you apply for.

Should you wish to study a subject from a department outside of the business school,  you look at the entire course catalogue of courses taught in English at Umeå University. Note however that you will only be offered a seat in those courses if you have the required knowledge and there are seats available.

Umeå University does not require an English language certificate from incoming exchange students.
